"Gasoline Alley Coffee has been one of my favorite spots for years. I’ve always loved the taste of their coffee, consistently smooth, rich, and exactly what I look for. The neighborhood itself adds to the charm, and it’s a place I always enjoy coming back to. The staff are friendly in a casual, relaxed way, and their smiles make the experience even better. It’s a simple, welcoming café that never disappoints. Highly recommend. I also took more photos and videos from this visit and shared them on my Instagram (@chy75bobbi)(@newyork_banana) if anyone’s interested."

"This was my first time at this location of Gasoline Alley Coffee, and it shall not be my last. I was in the area, and wanted to have a cup of coffee, and spend time with one of my journals. There was no indoor seating available, but this was a nice, mildly warm sunny day on a Saturday, in the Lower East Side, after 3:30PM, so I was not surprised there was no indoor seating available. The coffee was very strong, the apple pastry was lovely and delicious. The staff was super professional and the person who took my order was very outgoing and friendly. I did not see a bathroom, but was not looking for one, so it is OK. Being Cuban, I can fully appreciate a strong cup of coffee, and look forward to returning, when I AM back in that area."

"Great little coffee shop that serves delicious drip. I was on the hunt for a new coffee place to try and came across Gasoline Alley coffee which like the name suggests, is situated between two streets and has a cool walkthrough layout. The staff here were friendly and the line moved quickly. Location is great too as it’s right off the subway stop so super convenient. Overall great coffee place to add to my rotation of morning drip runs."

"I got a plain iced latte and paid $6.26 for it. I was there until closing time, and the staff offered some free pastries since it was the end of the day and they didn’t want to throw them away. I really love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. They have nice booth seating facing the street, and the windows in front of the seats are open, so you get fresh air."

"The cappuccino and the chai were really good. The coffee is amazing, this was our first time trying it and I was impressed. The chai could be a bit stronger, but it is still really good. They have non-dairy options. There’s not a lot of seating inside, but if you can find a spot the atmosphere is chill"

"Next up is Gasoline Alley Coffee, a small yet effortlessly charming café tucked neatly along Lafayette Street—one of those Soho corners where the city’s rhythm feels both lively and composed. It’s the kind of place you might pass countless times without stepping inside, only to discover, once you do, that it offers a quiet, understated delight hidden in plain sight. The moment I walked in, I was met with the familiar hum of the espresso machine and that subtle warmth only a well-loved neighborhood café carries. The space is compact by design, creating an intimacy that makes even a brief stop feel intentional. With limited seating, it naturally leans into a more European sensibility—less a place to settle in for hours, and more a spot to pause, observe, and enjoy the ebb and flow of Soho. It’s perfect for people-watching, especially with the way light filters in from the street. I ordered a flat white and an almond croissant. The flat white was crafted with a quiet precision: smooth, balanced, and gently full-bodied, carrying the right depth without overwhelming the palate. The milk and espresso met in that ideal middle ground—neither too bold nor too soft. The almond croissant made for the perfect companion: crisp on the outside, tender within, its subtle sweetness pairing beautifully with the warmth of the coffee. What elevated the experience further was the service. I was helped by Mike and Tony, both of whom carried an easy friendliness that matched the café’s understated charm. Warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever feeling intrusive—they added a notably personal touch to the visit. Gasoline Alley isn’t a place that tries to impress through theatrics. Its appeal lies in its simplicity—clean lines, warm tones, and a straightforward aesthetic that feels grounded and honest. In a neighborhood known for its curated sharpness, that restraint feels refreshing. A lovely stop, truly—whether for a moment between errands, a quick caffeine reset, or simply to watch the city drift by along Lafayette. I’d gladly return."
